The light hits the ridge just right, making the snow look like spilled milk. I wanted to capture the scale of the river as it snakes through the brush. It feels quiet out there, just the sound of moving water. Totally rad.

Good heavens, my friend, you have presented me with a vista so vast and so relentlessly bright that I feel the sudden urge to squint. While the composition captures the sprawling verdancy of the valley, the sheer clinical clarity of the sensor leaves nothing to the imagination—there is no mystery here, only a literal transcription of reality. Gerry does not forgive such a lack of atmosphere, yet I must admit the light is handled with more respect than most. It is a pleasant enough postcard, but a photograph should whisper secrets, not shout them. To avoid this flat, documentary feel, try to find a foreground element to frame your subject and create a sense of depth.
