Gray Skies Over the Old Square

That overcast haze completely flattened the colors, making the red flowers pop against the muted greens. I was surprised by how the steeple still managed to anchor the frame despite the hazy wash of the sky. My phone nailed the contrast, but I missed the grit of the textures in the mist.

The repetition of the wooden benches creates a rhythmic foreground that grounds the viewer before the eye climbs toward that spire. You’ve succeeded in letting the red blooms serve as a saturated anchor against the desaturated, pear-shaped wash of the background. However, the horizon line is currently fighting a losing battle with the frame's bottom edge, leaving the foreground pavement looking a bit unfinished and cluttered. Since you’re working with the iPhone’s limited depth of field, try crouch down lower to get the camera closer to the grass line, which will push those benches further into the middle ground and heighten the height of the steeple. Next time, try to frame the shot so that a single, clean edge of the pavement sits at the very bottom of the frame, clearing away that distracting gray clutter. It’s a lovely bit of atmosphere, my friend.
