Tiny blooms in the dirt

The 4mm lens really exaggerates the scale here. These little white flowers looked way more massive through the viewfinder than they did in person. I'm glad I caught them before the sun moved.

However, the harshness of the direct light does create a bit of "blown out" white that loses the delicate texture of the petals. Next time you're on the trail, try tapping your iPhone or Insta360 screen on the darkest part of the flower to underexpose the shot slightly. This will preserve those lovely petal details and keep the shadows from feeling too empty.
